• Major updates are done! We've squashed the nastier bugs, but there are probably a few smaller ones still scurrying about. Send us a DM on Twitter (@lowerworldtsw) or to @Custodian/@Voltigeur on this site if you catch one! We'll be tweaking the site's appearance and updating guides as the month goes on. :)

TLW Upgrades

Collapsible Myth

The upgrade went smoothly and now The Lower World is currently running XenForo 1.5 RC1. The software is very much stable and I've waited long enough after testing things out on our test board with the previous betas. There are a lot of new things that are included with XF 1.5. There are also many behind the scenes improvements and stability tweaks to help make your time here more enjoyable.

Thread Tagging:
You can add tags to threads to aid in searching and discovery of content

Clicking on a tag will bring you to a new page that lists all of the threads that are associated with that particular tag.

Profile Post Comments:
Another new feature is the ability to like profile post comments and user status comments.

Password and Email Change Notifications:

Beyond two-step verification, we have also made several other small account security-related improvements.

Now, if your password is changed, you will receive an email to make you aware of this. Normally you can disregard this, but it serves to help notify you if someone is accessing your account and attempting to block your access to it.

Similarly, if your registered email is changed, you'll receive an email (to the previous address) to make you aware of this.

Password Reset Process Changed

The password reset process has been simplified to be more user friendly and not send a password via email. Once you receive the email for the password reset request, the link will allow you to set a new password directly. This is more in line with current approaches to password resetting.

Two Step Authentication:

Including into the new security within TLW is the option of two step authentication. This is currently set up as an opt in service.
