He walked along the overgrown road, dense forest on either side, his rented truck parked a kilometer behind him. It had been many years since he last went down this path, though admittedly it was away, not towards all those years ago, almost an eternity in his mind, but still too close to the present. Alexander walked the road, MG42 resting on his shoulder and carrying a large backpack and dressed in his usual hunters coat, he walked the road, glancing to either side occasionally; there was no threat of attack, this path and what lay at the end has long been abandoned, by man and animal in its entirety, to much had happened for it to remain lively... so much violence had been wrought within.... so much blood had been shed. Another two Kilometers he walked, the forest forever thick and dark, that's why it was named what it was he briefly thought; He made it to the end of the road, it stopped at a massive hangar building, its roof and sides completely covered in vegetation, making it all but invisible those who didn't know it was here. Alex walks to the right of the closed hangar entrance to the small service door, giving it a good kick to open it; Inside it was dark, with light peeking in through holes in the roof, showing off several advanced VTOL transports sitting there, years of negligence are showing on there outsides. He walks to the center, three on other side as he walks between them to the large steel double doors at the end. Rust was everywhere he noticed when he reached the doors, walking to the right side, brushing all the dust and dirt from a keypad and entering a code; The doors slowly and opened inwards, into a long darkened hallway that angled downwards into the earth, several broken skeletons lined the pathway but he went this way before and walked downwards, knowing the route from a memory long ago. Deeper he went, when the floor leveled out straight, he estimated he was twenty meters below the surface, rooms branching off to the sides, any signs to be seen where covered with dirt, dust, and moss as to make them unreadable but once again, he did not need there directions. Further he went into the darkness, the beam of a flashlight aimed ever forwards until he came upon a large dual door, metal and heave, once more he walked over to the keypad; with a few pushes the doors slowly slide open. Alexander walked inside, the light never looking to either side, always on the small metal grated floor in front of his foot steps, darkness surrounded him on either side, impenetrable to his eyes: what he sought was straight ahead, one last door. It stood there, made of wood, the last door he needed to open to begin what has long been planned, the rusted metal label on it read ‘DIRECTOR’. He felt rage rise to the for and kicked the door, all those years weakened it and it broke off its hinges, landing loudly. The room was barren except for an office desk, chair, and a lamp that was on, filling the room with a faint light; Though the chair was not empty, sitting there was a tall, thin very pale man in a business suit, with his hands folded in front of him on the desk “Welcome home, Hunter, it is about time you cashed in on our deal” V simply nodded to the man “Yes, Mr Ritter, it is time... do it.”. The thin man known by Mr Ritter smiled ever so slightly and simply vanished from sight in the blink of an eye as a low rumble came from beneath Alexanders feet, and soon after the long silent facility awakened once more.
Alexander walked away from the desk through the now lit up room, back the way he came, overturned desks and destroyed computers littered the ground outside the Directors office. Already he heard the sounds of long dormant machines and computers awaken, and the faint smell of blood and the sight of faded and broken skeletons littering the ground. He takes a left at a junction walking down a corridor, its double doors sliding open as he approached, revealing a large expanse of a room, cylinder tanks ran along both walls and through the center, each with a figure inside; suspended in a faintly glowing liquid. A feral grin came to his lips, one that promised death as he walked towards the stairs that lead to the control room sitting above and in the middle of the room, up he went; that grin never left his face as he reached the control panel. He rested his hands over the controls, those that would set them loose, Alex took in a breath “Volf..” he pressed the first switch, and fluid starting draining for the number 1 pod “Fredrick..” and switch number two was flipped, and another pod started draining. “Lilith, Virgil, Azrael, Anderson, Lukas, Helga, Viktor, Emily, Jasmine, Duke, Jacob....” Nine more switches where flipped, after each name had been recited, it did this until all thirty had been flipped. As the switch number thirthy was flipped, the first pod fully emptied and the person... creature named Volf within sat at the bottom of its pod, slowly shifting forwards so he was on all fours; V continued his grin as he saw Volf awaken, he never could stand upright, not after the experiments. Volf sood on all fours, misshapen, hands and feet ending in razor sharp claws; He briefly regarded its own naked body before balling its fists and punching through the tank, several more strikes and he emerged from his broken prison, crawling on all fours. Others were emerging from there pods in the same violent fashion, many looked human and powerfully built... but quite a few didn’t, several crawled on clawed hands and feet like Volf, others where tall, covered in thick muscle, and standing apart from the rest where two that resembled werewolves, fur as black as night; but these two were not mindless, no they were calm and still had a humans mind. Alexanders grin grew wider as he saw them all gathering below, looking around, slowly, one by one they turned there gaze upwards. “Brothers, Sisters... I told you long ago i would return, to awaken you all when everything was set after this laboratory was wrecked from our retribution... how many of them escaped.. researchers, guards, directors, handlers.... i found them, each and every one of them, where they live, where they work... and i promised you all vengence those many years ago... now it is our time.” those gathered below looked up with various expressions of joy and savagery at the prospect. “They will pay, everything is ready... and we shall start our road to vengeance, So prepare my brothers and sisters... it begins soon...” They all stared for several more moments before taking the way out of the room, to explore what was left, and arm themselves. Alexander turned and Mr Ritter stood there, standing taller than V by several inches dressed in business attire “Hunter” there was the slightest hint of a smirk “Already starting... there is a saying you humans have, When going on the road to revenge, dig two graves” Alex shook his head “Oh no, Mr Ritter... i am going to need a lot more than two, before this is finished”. Ritter nods slightly “Of course, i shall be watching, after all, this will be quite the show” and with that the tall thin man once more disappeared into thin air. V sighed and headed down the stairs to the floor below, he walked on spilled fluid and broken glass as he headed to the rooms exit, yes... there will need to be a lot of graves dug.. but first his fellow rejected experiments needed to regain there strength, to prepare and be equipped... yes there will be a reckoning on those who survived, but Alex and his siblings could wait a few more days to begin.
The next few days were very busy in the complex and surrounding area, vacuum sealed containers were broken open; filled with weapons, clothing, equipment, parts... everything they needed to bring the facility up and running. Bodies where cleared, dust swept away, and immediate food concerns alleviated by several of things hunting in the nearby forest... and they were viciously efficient at that, as the freezers that were once storage for failed experiments and corpses now where filled with meat from the animals in a wide diameter, the werewolf pair contributing to most of it. Alexander walked along the hallways after claiming the Directors office as his own, watching the various scenes of industry and rebuilding, already the various groups had claimed living spaces; the human ones, like V’s self, took the staff residential section, the hulking ones took the storage area beside the testing/weight rooms, Volf and his crawling mutants claimed the large ventilation ducts that ran across the facility and they can always be heard moving around in them, while the werewolf pair seemed to claim the area outside V’s new office possibly acting as guards to there perceived pack master; always staying near him when they weren’t given orders or feeding. Alexander smiled slightly as he saw the transformation taking hold of his brothers and sisters, how they were released from there state of suspended animation a day ago and already they adapted and where moving with purpose again... and taking the same chemical that coursed through V’s own veins did through there’s as well, good thing the facility had vast tanks full of it, and they, his brothers and sisters quickly figured out how to make more. Each of the three groupings of failures had quickly found leaders to gather around, Volf being in charge of his mutant brethren, Azrael for the hulking ones, and Lilith for the ‘Normal’ ones, and each reported to Alexander every day, their unanimous leader. On day two after being freed, the weapon ranges and training areas were being used, long dormant skills were being reawakened at an alarming pace as the group of thirty honed there deadly skills, acquired many years ago through pain and suffering as well as starting to walk around in military uniforms and equipment, each of the uniforms jet black, armoured, and bearing a deer skull insignia on the shoulders. On day three, the VTOLs were properly cleaned and repaired, they held up surprisingly well over the years of neglect, and the hanger and surrounding area was cleared and cleaned up; clearing the vegetation from the pavement and sections of the roof to allow in light. The fence was repaired, trips to the nearby towns acquired anything they were missing, and Vehicles were requisitioned or even stolen as they strode ever forwards to the start of there revenge... what they all wanted more then anything more... vengeance for the past, how they were all taken from friends, families, lovers to serve in some experiment... failed experiment... But of course, now was there time to rise, many had escaped the facility during the rebellion... but they could hide no longer out in the world, Alexander found the rocks they crawled under, and in the end, revenge would be theirs.
