As a man with an aura reminiscent of both death and discovery, Jamal typically exists on the fringe of any social situation. Considering the types of people that he involves himself with, it's no wonder that he's made himself content with likely never being in the center of attention. In fact, for all intents and purposes, he seems to be like any other person shuffling their way through life and people seem to be content with overlooking his existence entirely for other, more obviously exciting spectacles. He does look, after all, rather average.
