Kerian "Vir41" Pierce

Kerian is a selective mute. The real story would be that some traumatism forced him into the loss of his voice, but the average Joe without any closeness to him would just think he was born without the ability to speak or his smoking addiction wrecked his throat beyond saving. Still, he is not beyond the ability to communicate as he developped his own text-to-speech device, linking his phone to the speaker grafted on his clothes. He also learned Quebec Sign Language, a helpful perk due to combining parts of American Sign Language and French Sign Language.

Beyond that, Kerian just always looks like he is daydreaming or plain bored. Showing emotions is rare, rendering him especially confusing to discuss with between his stoic face and the mechanical voice of his speaker. But he is not without humour and especially loves to punctuate his discussions with obscure metaphors in informatic lingo or memes from the Internet.
