Publicly Lula is known only as one of countless idle children of wealth and status. The DeVelora family is old money going all the way back to when one of Lula’s fore-bearers did something that was harmful enough to the Spanish crown that the English one saw fit to reward him. The family has been akin to nobility in England ever after; enjoying all the riches and comfort that such status confers. However, it was not until relatively recently that the DeVelora family achieved a level of wealth and status that really allows them to be snotty about it. Croise’s father, Dr. Nigel DeVelora, is considered nothing short of a genius in the field of cosmetics and is responsible for several of the most profitable new developments in that arena over the past decade.
Lula herself has little in the way of her own accomplishments as far as the public are aware. She has no work history to speak of as her family wealth makes a steady job unnecessary. She was a very accomplished sport fencer during her late teens and early 20’s ranking as high as 11th in the world at one time. She placed fourth in the 2005 All England Fencing Finals and had the European Fencing Championship all but won before letting it slip through her fingers in a final round meltdown that is still a sore spot. Nevertheless, she was to compete for a spot on the UK Olympic team before suffering an injury during training. While she fully recovered from the injury she never fenced competitively again.

Lula attended Oxford University where she studied Fine Arts for two years before dropping out. She has been arrested for possession of low level narcotics on two different occasions and paid a small fine before having the charges effectively dropped in both cases.
The DeVelora family has actively avoided attracting too much attention even in the exclusive social circles it now occupies. Though it is common knowledge among England’s elite social club members that the relationship between Dr. DeVelora and his daughter has been strained to the point of near open hostility since the death of Lula’s mother in February of 1997 and her father’s remarriage to his current wife Mrs. Elizabeth-May DeVelora December of that same year.
