What is NaNoWriMo?

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing. On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 PM on November 30.

Valuing enthusiasm, determination, and a deadline, NaNoWriMo is for anyone who has ever thought fleetingly about writing a novel.

Have been participating in this since 2012 and have had fun doing it. If you're going to participate then would like to add you on my buddy list and hope to be added to yours

I've never done this cause I'm not much of a writer. I definitely can't write 50k words in a month... unless you count my forum posts, then I go over that EASILY.

What is NaNoWriMo?

A few of my friends have done this and it has always appealed to me. I feel like I have ideas bouncing around in my head that need to spill out somewhere. Sadly, working means I don't have a huge amount of free time but I'll keep a close eye on this and if I'm feeling creative enough I'll have a stab at NaNoWriMo2015.

After the Black looked like it would have been an interesting read. Is it possible to see what you managed to complete?

It is a huge commitment as you have to just focus on getting your daily goal every day. Add in the fact that you have Thanksgiving that always messes things up.

I might post a snippet but I'm currently working on it and vowed to finish it to completion with edits and the like.

How many words a day? I read it was something like 3000. That is commitment.

Thankfully (pun!) we don't celebrate the murder of unarmed men, women and children so this wouldn't be a concern of mine.
