A Note On Timelines In the Requineverse

Requine

This is an out of character topic for timeline notes and confusion.

As a rule, chronology is always... wibbly wobbly. If someone is underground in a tunnel, I do not expect them to abstain from Twitter, for instance. Events can run parallel to each other.

However, here's a rough timeline of Requineverse events.

  1. OPERATION: ROGUE PHOENICIAN
  2. CAMPAIGN: TWIN FALLS, ACT 1, 2
  3. OPERATION: PESTE NOIR ACT 1
  4. CAMPAIGN: TWIN FALLS FACT 3
  5. OPERATION: PESTE NOIR ACT 2
That is Phase One of the Requineverse and obviously it is not required reading or nothing, but if your curious you can read about them on the Player Created Lore Wiki.

Phase Two, which is what we're currently in, looks like this

  1. MISSION: TERROR UNDER TORONTO (mid-February, so it takes place in the near-past)
  2. CAMPAIGN: MASQUERADE AT SEA (end of February, takes place over two days)
  3. OPERATION: HIDDEN DRAGON ("first days of spring", so early Act 1 is early March)
Because of the nature of the OPERATION format, assume time is wibbly wobbly. Like, the video leaks day 1, the extraction is day 2. I won't be nailing down exact dates or time frames because that is an exercise in madness.

Hope this helps head off any confusion. Feel free to ask questions about timeline stuff here.

Just slightly ahead of the curve, Chuck.
The amount of work you are doing is amazing, if you wouldn't mind putting up an email that we can send paypal stuff to, I actually had a look around and I found one for the forum but not you, and you're listed as a supporter (and that you donated yourself! http://thelowerworld.com/index.php?profile-posts/82/ ) but not someone who runs the site (which actually surprised me seeing as you are the one that makes the content that makes the site worth visiting! :))

I also know of people that do professional writing blogs, youtube etc and fund it with things like patreon.com so that might be something to consider too as things take off more and more :) I think this is what a lot of people wanted from TSW but never really got!

Hey! Thanks a lot for the feedback. It means a lot, it really does. I am hiding in my hoodie and grinning and blushing like an idiot.

I am not officially affiliated with the Lower World in any way, just to be clear, you are correct. I just use it to run stuff 'cause it's so good.

As for accepting donations, that's something I have been approached about, and I am not sure it is something I want to do. Right now I have the ultimate authority over everything, and I am concerned that accepting donations could compromise that.

If more people bring it up, I might re-think my stance, but right now I am happy to do things for free.

Thanks again. It means a ton.

Could make it very clear that donations don't give anything in return except than making it easier to spend time doing what you love without anything like "donate x and you get x" which makes it less like a donation anyway, but I can understand there's also could be the other issues (like news companies etc too) of feeling pressure that you're being wasteful about money if you don't change, simplify or censor things to be more popularised etc and stuff like that too, yeah, ok :)

(Oh though, for the more people bring it up thing: people are much more likely to click something than vocalise stuff like this cos a lot of people are very shy about saying stuff like this, even if they agree, and it's obvious that people appreciate you a lot! - if you wanted to get a genuine gauge I'd run a poll or something)

As a compromise I may set up a Steam gift list or something where I can put some video games down and people can chip in if they want. That might be a good middle ground. I'll think about it.

You mean Rogue Phoenician, Twin Falls, and Peste Noir?

They are all archived in Google Docs.

I gotta warn you: they're fucking huge. Twin Falls eclipses 100k words.

Rogue Phoenician

This was my first campaign at all.

Act 3 Part 2 (I'm not kidding this fucker's huge)

Twin Falls is essentially where the GDoc format fell apart here. It has a lot of issues due to what are essentially growing pains.

I did not run Peste Noir, but I was a player in it and it is part of the Requineverse.

Peste Noir
Act 1

Act 2

Act 3
https://docs.google.com/document/d/18av60rWF2Lj4Y98WRz0_ZR_zj0PNzZJvsPqIv_V70_w/edit

At some point I will figure out a more elegant archiving system.

Here's what the timeline for Hidden Dragon looks like so far:

Day One (Early March): Cass is kidnapped.
Day Two: People begin to mobilize and plan. Most of this is good. A whole lot of is real bad.
Day Three: Blake's extraction team meets.
Day Four: Cass is saved. Yay! Venetian Report #2 is released.
Day Five: Cass is isolated in a medical center near Area 51. She is medically examined and cleared for visitors, but held in detention.
Day Six: Visitors begin to come.

I have to respond to some requests for information, organize some stuff, etc. etc. I'm going to try to get that done tomorrow (Saturday the 14th) and on Sunday we should be back up to date, and I'll release a new set of prompts and address which ones have been followed up on.

Thanks for your patience and enthusiasm as always, guys.
