Major updates are done! We've squashed the nastier bugs, but there are probably a few smaller ones still scurrying about. Send us a DM on Twitter (@lowerworldtsw) or to @Custodian/@Voltigeur on this site if you catch one!
We'll be tweaking the site's appearance and updating guides as the month goes on. :)
Blake waits in one of the many small corporate meeting rooms in the Labyrinth, nursing a cup of coffee. He's dressed in a dark blue suit with a white shirt and dark tie, and his aviators, and as usual is reviewing data on his tablet as he waits.
He's not left waiting long before Ash turns up, dressed in a smart-looking black skirt suit with a red shirt. She's looking at her phone as she enters. "Hey, Blake. How good are we to go on this tonight?"
She doesn't actually stop moving once she enters, as she's soon pacing the floor, gesturing with the hand holding the phone. "Right, in terms of what I can do to weaken them before we go in... I can definitely contaminate their water from outside, already organized a bunch of tranqs for that. I should also be able to hack into their system externally, but what I don't know is what I'll be able to do when I'm in there. I know I'll be able to hijack their communications, anything else we'll just have to wait and see. I looked into compromising their gas delivery system, but that's not really feasible."
"As for what we're facing in there... the London cell had about three dozen people in it, and yet wasn't really protecting anything important. Their HQ in West Virginia had about sixty. They've got something worth protecting in here, so I'd wager it's somewhere between those two numbers."
She makes her way around the desk, leaning on it as she looks at the screen. "I dunno what you'll be looking for, I rarely find myself in sieges like this... my big question will be where the computer is. This thing's big, and likely a bit of a power drain, so there's only so many places it can be."
Unlike the multi-storied buildings that the other cells were in, this is a former business that's been renovated and boarded up. It's a one story, sprawling place, with lots of rooms and potential hiding spaces. There's one spot, in the back, near the ventilation systems that seem like a solid place to keep the supercomputer - it's also as far away from the single entrance as possible.
She points to the back room after a few seconds of scanning. "There. That'd be the reasonable place for it... was probably where the servers were back when this was in action. Looks like we'd have to clear out basically the whole place before getting there... we'd have needed to anyway, frankly."
"Makes sense," Jericho nods, looking at the map. "I heard resistance in the London cell block was fierce, and we can bet they have the damned gas. This being New York, though, I think I'll lead a team of blue-armored troops, if I can get it. The Talking Heads won't want Reds involved."
"Yeah, they have the gas, I checked. The drugs in the water should do a number on a good chunk of 'em if I get it in the system a few hours before--which I'm gonna do. We might well be looking at fifty people, but not many of 'em are going to be at full strength. Especially not with their comms playing deafening tones at them."
"Agreed on not getting the Crosses involved... this is our shit, and we want this computer intact. I'll trust you to put together a good lineup. Frankly, I'm not even a good fighter with anima, so I'll do better to keep behind the frontline."
She straightens up, tugging idly at her jacket. "Think that's everything we ourselves need to cover. I'll see you at the raid, I'll be on the ground to make sure it all goes smoothly. And to shoot things, if it comes to it."
She makes her way out with that, although she stops at the door. "Oh, bring hearing protection. Just in case... if they use a PA system, this shit's gonna be loud." And with that, she leaves.
((That's all done as far as I can tell; it's 2:30 AM here, so it had better be. I should be back up and going at any point after 7PM EST, so any time after that is fine.))
Blake nods wordlessly as he compiles what he will need for the team. Body armor, gas masks, MP5 Submachineguns, and 9mm P226 pistols for ammo compatibility. Flashbangs and stun grenades only, as they can't risk damage to the computers. Shaped charges for doors. At least one team member trained in dealing with electronic locks, and a field medic.
