Major updates are done! We've squashed the nastier bugs, but there are probably a few smaller ones still scurrying about. Send us a DM on Twitter (@lowerworldtsw) or to @Custodian/@Voltigeur on this site if you catch one!
We'll be tweaking the site's appearance and updating guides as the month goes on. :)
"Their computer is old. Old and shit. I identified the text parser, the double-forward-slashes are the hallmark of REALLY old Illuminati programming. Like, punchcards and magnetic tape reels. Visually impressive, it probably takes up the whole room, but... well, it's weaker than what I'm using to write the infiltration code here." She points down at her phone, before looking down at the screen and starting to tap at the screen. She speaks again while still doing so. "Frankly, it should've been decommissioned decades ago. It shouldn't be hooked up to Twitter, or tweeting this much... I have a hunch these guys aren't exactly tech-savvy."
"Shotgun. Using people as human shields, which is of questionable use with cults. Knifin'. Marginally more accurate with a sidearm, but." Sarah shrugs. "Also, even without the bee, I've got enough damn magical bling and residual effects to survive."
Jude slides her phone into her pocket and leans forward. "The only thing I do that relies on anima is coming back to life. And I'm still totally willing to run any suicide bullshit that might be necessary."
She listens, then nods to Ash. "In that case, if you don't think it'll be helpful, I'd say just get what data you can off it."
"It might not be useful to us, but it's useful to them." She starts pointing with her free hand. "They're clearly pushing a lot of responsibility onto it, enough that they'll be handicapped if they lose it."
"The problem I see with getting info from it is that they'll know. They'll know that suddenly, we have everything they know, and they'll seek to invalidate as much of it as possible. Sure, we'll HAVE the data, but how much of it is going to be useful when they know we have it?"
"Marksman," Russell says positively. "I'm decent with with a rifle or shotgun, but pistols are my forte. Also, blades." He respectfully touches the katana attached to his rucksack. "I'm a genius with those, when anima's backing me. But even without, I'm in the AP class."
Jericho stays quiet through the whole discussion about Doyle. His tolerance for inter faction bickering is thinner than usual. "Ok. Let's get back to business. Mr. Havelock, we need everything you got. Number of hostiles, security system, passwords, Ms. Arbuthnot's location, and if he sang enough for a partial floor plan at least."
"Get the data if you can. If we destroy it we know nothing, if they change it we know almost nothing. Seems like a clear choice." She looks around the group.
"I'll be wearing protective combat gear and carrying as many guns as I can comfortably load myself up with. While I still have anima I'll be carrying an M60, but it's way too heavy once the smoke comes in, so shotgun and pistols. I'm a damn good shot. Plus I know enough blood magic without anima to keep myself and maybe one other person alive through serious injuries."
"Right, I'll make it tell me everything. Privately if possible--just to make sure nobody does anything stupid with THIS info, like Alric did with the last one that got leaked publicly. I'll still send it out when you guys are in there, just to make sure they're at least a little distracted."
She goes back to tapping at her phone. "If they're stupid--and they might be, but I'm not making the mistake of underestimation--then they won't even replace this junker, or disconnect it from the network. Which means if they don't, and we hit them again, I can still bring it to its knees by trying to make it re-enact the entirety of Trial of a Time Lord." She grins to herself. "Which is sorely tempting, I have to admit..."
"They're going to be on high alert, and no stealth system is flawless. Hell, if they're looking straight at the aircraft they'll just see it. So is this gas colourless? because if we just jump and right at the bottom we're cut off from anima we are fucked."
"So we use rappelling gear. It's the best compromise. We'll set up a practice room in one of the sim rooms, so those that haven't done it can at least learn the basics."
