Filth Infected Characters

[Collapsible Myth]

Was wanting to see how many others out there have played or are currently using a character that is infected by the filth. Just like with any other non-bee generic characters, filth beings are perhaps something wholly interesting.

I drive one character that is somewhat infected, as she's created in the lab with a highly concentrated strain of filth. She isn't one of those crazy, running around Blue Mountain types. More in that she is aware of what she is and uses the filth as just another tool in getting the job done.

Technically...

Many bees are to some degree infected, although oddly resilient. It's implied that that is how we hear John in our heads - all of the Infected in Kaidan, particularly those most devastated, like Sarah and Kurt - hear the inkly bubbling of the Black Signal. We too hear the Signal, although John is certainly capable of communication through technological devices and meatbags. Unfortunately, his cell-signal seems to cause cats to commit suicide and Geary to suffer psychic nosebleeds, among other things as of yet unknown, but I digress.

Scrivnomancer has implied as much before, and the mere fact we can hear things implies we have some level of infection. We aren't slaves to the Filth or even capable of employing it, but we can't possibly be clean if we've let John in. As the Filth is the Liquid Dream of the sleepers - their dreams come to life - only one belonging to the Dreamers or the Filth itself seems capable of employing it. I do wish they kept up on that offer of making me a new god though. I would be a harbinger in an instant if they made me a god!

Of course, none of this means we're playing Filth characters. I personally don't, but I wanted to put those lore tidbit out as a reminder.
