The Court of Spring ~ War Tent

Theo Collins

New Member
Upon arriving in [25], Theo would begin the procedure to purify the the filthy land, making sure that he himself nor his men were to touch the nasty stuff. Once the filth started to recede, he could feel the magic of the area returning. This brought a small smile to his face. Watching this place thrive again made Theo feel less useless during this time. "So Stray, dare I ask how long you've been battling this filth?" He questioned. "I can only imagine how tiring it must be."

After some quick reconnaissance, Theo would notice that there were signs of the enemy had left a while ago. "Damn it" he cursed. "Just missed them." He would turn to Stray. "Should we pursue them or continue on to purify the rest of this place?"

Stray would be wading through the filth, plunging his holy sword into anything that moved. "All filth is the same to me in essence. I have fought it as long as I have known of it's existence." The blackened bile boiled upon his blade. "Let us purify this land, then pursue. We wouldn't want our escape route to be coated in this stuff if things go south."

The Fae might notice that while the queen had been captured, the lullaby did not end. It was fainter at the moment, but still there. The headphones Nick provided were still useful. Nick would meet up with the forces around him, introducing himself and getting to know them. "I will go and attempt to purify Jena."

Charles was standing at the entrance of the portal, making sure that it would not close as he waited for Viyola to return.

"It is done?" He asked, not one to check or speak on twitter while he worked, but he had heard the news alright. They all had.

"She is truly purified?" He sounded optimistic, but still a tad bit skeptical. Everyone at the camp would see that the body that was arriving was being pulled on a stretcher. And it looked less like a purified body and more like a mummy. For now, the mummy-like figure was slumbering. Its breathing rhythmic, controlled. She was alive, that much was for certain. But to remove her bandages now would be disastrous. They would have to wait several days.

Avery stepped out of the war tent with a small smile as she watched Viyola, Cezar, and the stretcher pass by. There was a part of the nixie that wished to follow, to see what help she could be to her adoptive daughter, but she knew that there was still work to be done. The Courier of Spring instead made eye contact with Viyola and Cezar for a moment and, placing the wooded hand of her prosthetic over her heart, bowed deeply to the pair of them to show them how deeply thankful she was. She then turned and strode back into the tent to see to the finale of this brutal conflict.

Cezar nodded to both Charles and Avery as they returned through the portal. He was standing very close to Egle's fragile form as they headed towards a medical tent set-up as per his request. She would have been placed down and immediately be attended to. An IV and heart monitor were connected to her newly formed veins. Cezar assisted in this process. They watched as the newly propped up monitor was switched on and her vitals were displayed. Everything was stable for now, but not good either. She was incredibly vulnerable. The poison he used to numb her senses would wear off in a few hours and she'd need morphine and other sedatives in place to reduce as much pain as possible. An ultrasound proceeded to show that the child was also safe. The screen gave off a slightly blue hue. As much as Egle despised Gaia, mother nature was in fact the only force keeping her baby alive. The fae wiped his forehead in relief. His mind was already at work with planning her treatment. He would need to explain this all to someone of higher authority and make sure that he remained by her side during this time. Modern medicine didn't mix well with ancient fae magic. Ash necromancy was powerful but came at a price.

Without much of a warning or a goodbye, Avery packs up in the middle of the night and leaves for Nixie Hollow. She was tired, in pain, and wished for nothing more than to rest within the waters of her domain once more. Egle was safe. Her fight was over for the time being. She had been given leave by Her Lady Bresee and seized upon the opportunity as soon as she was able. A lone note would be left behind.

Dear Friends and Allies,

My place in this fight has come to a close. I am sorry to have left you on such short notice but I truly do need a break from this world of conflict whilst I take time to mend. I wish you all the very best and shall come to your aid if you truly have need of me. Hopefully it does not come to that as I doubt I would be of too much use in my current state anyway. Keep Egle safe for me and please tell me when she wakes up. I would very much like to give my daughter a hug after all she has been through.

Good luck in your fight. May this finale come swiftly and without much conflict.

Love,
Courier Avery Hughes

((Final Battle setup! If you would like to particpate in the final battle, the one that will tie up any and all loose ends as well as get rid of the rest of the sentient filth in Thuringia, please let me know. I will be making multiple battles to make sure everyone gets a chance to fight if they want to fight, but I need to know how many people are getting involved so I know how many battles to set up. Thanks! I should warn that this will be taking certain liberties with the boardgame rules. I think we can all agree that the filth has lost, but I will be giving them a swell in their forces to make the final batle more climactic. I don't expect them to win, I do however want to make sure its enough of an epic battle to be fun for those involved. Let me know whoever has interest!))

((Was planning on starting this weekend, wanted to make sure everyone got an opportunity to join if they wanted to. Looks like it may be just a few though.))

((Klaus is in too! He doesn't want his home defiled! Although he's quite lacking in actual combat skills, he's still a bee, and has quite the repertoire of knowledge to offer. Poisons, anyone? :D))

With the filthy queen captured, the fae forces continued pushing their way into Atenburger, securing and quarantining the filth as well as preparing the land for much needed purification, as the process would be slow. Newcomers were encouraged to help in the process (Klaus) in any way they could. Each day this continued, the lullaby the Fae heard would become louder and louder, more aggressive. Troops went missing, following the song into the seemingly abandoned red hand headquarters. This fueled the Court of Springs push into the enemy stronghold. If the lullaby did not come from Egle.....then what? They needed to find out before it got any worse.

Those that kept an watchful eye on the recovering body that belonged to what was once the Queen of the Court of Lilacs, would notice signs of irritation too, affecting the mummified being. Little instances where the body seemed to shake. Moaning. Followed by more shaking.

It was rhythmic. As though in tone with a distant "thump thump" of a drum.

Or a heartbeat.

Cezar went to her side and gazed over her twitching form. There wasn't anything they could do. She was supposed to be unconscious , but something was forcefully stirring her. He removed a glove and carefully placed his hand on her forehead. A gentle soothing breeze emitted from his touch, trying to calm her down for what it was worth.
