REGARDING THE KNIGHT-CAPTAIN ARBUTHNOT CASE
REPORT #3
VENETIAN LEAD: DARIUS POWELL
Those who didn't - you should be ashamed of yourselves.
The political situation is - to put it bluntly - volatile. The Illuminati are holding the Knight-Captain in detention outside Area 51. While they have a legal argument to do so, as Arbuthnot was illegally operating on US soil, it is not a particularly strong one. Venice calls for Arbuthnot to be transferred to the Sunken Library, for her safety. As of right now, the Illuminati are refusing to comply. Temple Hall argues that Arbuthnot should be their responsibility. We strenuously disagree with the fact that either unruly sibling should take the Knight-Captain; she is an invaluable source of intel and a potential security risk. The responsibility falls to Venice.
Alas, none of you agents are capable of convincing the parties involved to change their minds.
This report will cover the investigation efforts made against the Dawnbreak since the Knight-Captain's rescue.
Ashleigh DeFlemsey finally completes parsing through the Morninglight data. She finds something very, very interesting - the supercomputer was used during the MKUltra Illuminati experiments. It seems the supercomputer's owner has been augmenting it with Orochi tech and trying to use it to host... a personality, or a person's mind. It's complicated and crosses over into magic, but it leaves you very uneasy.
You begin to work on tracing the Orochi pieces, only to find that they were stolen. Unless you can navigate the intricacies of the black market, your investigation slows down significantly here.
Marli Anderson, under guise as "Illuminated Agent Carter", investigates the site of the West Virginia HQ. She finds that Ward & Nord construction was the company in charge of building the glass and steel structure, and that Orochi tech was involved on a fundamental level. She eliminates Abigail Johnson, the Agent on the case, and escapes with the evidence, forwarding it to Jericho Blake. The details of Anderson's visit to the site can be found here. Johnson is expected to regenerate within the next 48 hours, although she has been denied her most recent promotion as a result of this blunder.
Witch Hunter Grace Mereland was spotted with what seemed to be an unknown ally in Bejing, tacking one of the Dawnbreak cells uncovered by Ian Rothcraft-Glenisle. However, it seems the Witch Hunter worked alone. There are now four major Dawnbreak cells remaining. The details of Mereland's expedition can be found here.
This means there are four major Dawnbreak cells remaining, their locations being:
London, England
Seoul, South Korea,
New York City, USA
Los Angeles, USA
Jericho Blake begins investigating Ward & Nord Construction, the company that built the HQ. He finds two facts: One, that they specialize in such structures as the one you found in West Virginia. The second is that they were bidding for a Morninglight contract during the events of CAMPAIGN: Twin Falls. The company may be less innocent than they appear on the surface.
Several people come to meet with the Knight-Captain; the Illuminati graciously allows them to do so.
Charles Price, an Illuminati executive and friend of Cassandra, is the first visitor. The two discuss their lives and catch up; it seems neither of them have had the best of luck lately. The details of their conversation can be found here.
Victoria Val Dame and the Knight-Captain, surprisingly enough, have an extremely friendly visit. The Illuminati have scanned their conversation for code, and have found none. The two women, despite everything, seem to be friends. The details of their conversation can be found here.
Kody "Saint Jude" Blaine visits Cass and the two discuss the mission. The two women agree that there's something suspicious about the premise of the case, and that a traitor might lurk in Temple Hall. Jude does not have any interest in following up on the Dawnbreak, but suggests Cass remain in custody for her own safety. The details of their conversation can be found here.
Russell Kobayashi and Cass talk about Temple Hall, Orochi, and the case. They both agree that the premise is suspicious, and that Orochi's involvement must be a sign that something deeper is going on. They discuss the Dawnbreak - it is seemingly suspicious that the cult that has been so incompetent has garnered so many successes. Are they better than they seem, or is someone lending them a hand? The details of their conversation can be found here.
Finally, Jericho Blake visits the Knight-Captain with the aim of investigating her possible brainwashing and the details of her captivity, especially in regards to Ezekiel King and Kevin Fowler. The Knight-Captain is incredibly upset by the conversation, but she reveals that Fowler was in charge of her medical (or lack thereof) care. She tells Blake that the Dawnbreak have anima concentration tech and the ability to add or remove liquefied anima to a person. She reveals that she was the test subject during her week of captivity. While she retains her original powers, she is being closely monitored to make sure there are no ... complications. Arbuthnot insists that she is not brainwashed, and that she "did the best she could". Blake begins his hunt to find Kevin Fowler and Ezekiel King, the men behind the video that made the Dawnbreak a household name. The full details of their conversation can be found here.
Ian Rothcraft-Glenisle is also hunting for Fowler and King, although he's starting from a different point. He waits in New York City for Olivia Bass, the Dawnbreak's social coordinator and accountant. He hopes the woman can lead him to her superiors, or perhaps more information on the nefarious cult.
At this time, we encourage agents to exercise extreme caution. There are too many unknowns in the game as of yet. Tread carefully, or you may end up in the Knight-Captain's earlier position.
