REGARDING THE KNIGHT-CAPTAIN ARBUTHNOT CASE
REPORT #2
VENETIAN LEAD: DARIUS POWELL

Immediately after the Dawnbreak released their video with the torture of Knight-Captain Arbuthnot, the Secret World - regrettably - sprung into action without consulting the wisdom or laws of Venice.

In southern Ireland, 16 Dawnbreak members are reported as dead. Witnesses suggest that either a person in a full suit of plate armour, or an eight year old girl (depending on reports) was the war criminal in question. The primary suspect right now is Knight Elisha Wright; frustratingly, Temple Hall is closing ranks and we are unable to follow this lead. If any agents have information on this crime, please report it to Mr. Darius Powell, so the issue can be addressed.

Furthermore, an apartment building that was used as a Dawnbreak settlement in New York City is targeted by Arkham Blackwell, an Illuminati mercenary. After clearing out the building, Blackwell releases a video of him enacting retribution upon the building's leader.

Rumours also begin to swirl that would discredit the Dawnbreak in the public's eyes - rumours of child brides, brutal hazings, and so forth.

Blackwell releases two pieces of information: the first is a picture of Ezekiel King, the man who released the manifesto in late winter.

He also notifies agents on the case that King is apparently infatuated with an Orochi core that is simply named "R7".

The most dangerous act of retribution comes from a senior Toolbox agent, Alric Barringer.

Barringer makes what can be charitably called a "series of extremely bad decisions".

Barringer's superior, and the head of Toolbox, steps in to moderate his extreme actions.

Eventually, the Illuminati take notice, and step in.

However, Barringer has already performed a business transaction with war criminal and Phoenician General Victoria Val Dame. Morninglight prisoners are seized from a city, and while they are eventually returned home, the Council shudders to think of the ramifications of such an act.

Barringer's disappearance and the bounty on his head seems to shock some sense into the Secret World, and while all four factions continue to act without guidance or word from the Council, at least we can say that their actions become slightly more focused on the task of returning the Knight-Captain home.

Ashleigh DeFlemsey looks into the AI that periodically posts on the Dawnbreak's Twitter account and finds that it is likely based off an old, punch-card era Illuminati supercomputer - one of the first attempts at such a piece of technology. She notes that it should not be able to connect to Twitter, and it's less powerful than a modern smartphone.

Gillian Zhuge, a Templar agent, stages a defection over to the Dawnbreak.

Alex Morgan, a Dragon agent, begins searching through his contacts in the Korinto-Kai, the Council of Venice, and the Dragon to find more Dawnbreak safehouses and structures. He scores several positive hits - while some of them are small (less than five people), others are large enough to cause some havoc.

He finds that these locations are in:

London, England
Seoul, South Korea,
Beijing, China
New York City, USA
Los Angeles, USA

Ian Glenisle-Rothcraft focuses on the personnel. Beginning with the Dawnbreakers that Barringer had captured and held in Toolbox HQ, he works his way through the ranks. He eventually finds that Ezekiel King is largely a figurehead. His right hand man, Kevin Fowler (the man depicted hitting and torturing Arbuthnot on video) has been handling more and more of his duties nowadays; King is becoming somewhat of a recluse. The two men are always side by side. After the video went live, they fled West Virginia. The Dawnbreak have a professional who handles Fowler and Kings' social calendars and flight schedules - Olivia Bass. She has a very light profile, with not much of a public presence, but she apparently does some side accounting jobs in New York City - the Dawnbreak can't be paying her too well, if that's necessary.
Finally, Jericho Blake and Derek Havelock lead a raid on the West Virginia Dawnbreak facility where Arbuthnot is being held, with nearly a dozen other Secret World agents backing their assault up.

Zhuge's false defection bears fruit here - she takes down half the facility by detonating her explosives vest. The details on Zhuge's solo mission can be found here.

The facility's AI, partially managed by the Illuminati super computer, is taken out of commission by Ashleigh DeFlemsey.

DeFlemsey begins to sort through the data that she acquired; while it will take time for everything to be processed and fully understood, there is something very curious - there is an axillary source of power for the ancient supercomputer, and the code points towards it being... Orochi.
The raid is a complete success. One Dawnbreaker is taken prisoner; the rest are killed. The details of the raid can be found here.

There are, of course, questions that still need to be answered and actions that still need to be taken.

Hopefully, with Knight-Captain Arbuthnot out of peril, we can trust the Secret World to be more reasonable about their actions.
