“You want Romance? We can do Romance.” Cen bounced on her toes and began scribbling on a little pad decorated in bees. “Does it matter the flavor? Personally I like chocolate, but you can always add love potions to pretty much any kind of dough.”
The man on the other side of the counter at Burnt Offerings Bakery looked surprised. He was a customer they’d had previously, although this was his first ‘special’ order.
“How long will it last? Will it be permanent?” He seemed very eager.
“Good golly, no! You said Romance, not love. Getting in the mood is easy, making someone love you is hard especially if it goes against their nature.” Cen glanced back at Minji who was happily icing sugar cookies with ponybug images. “Sometimes you have to actually work to make a relationship start, let alone grow. Its an uphill battle in this world we live in. Too much violence, too many conflicting orders, not enough time, but entirely too much time.”
Shaking off the melancholy that had crept up on her, Cen turned back to the customer. She gave him her cheeriest smile. “How about a lovely chocolate and cherry torte with a little extra to keep you in the mood?”
The customer leaned a little forward and whispered. “Can I get that with viagra too?”
